Topic: Red Balloons
Was working at Irvine and there were rumours that someone had bought the company out or something. Then they said that we were having a meeting in the middle of the shop. (We were actually working in front where we used to work when it was roller shades and not the back like when we moved to Char's line). So we were having a meeting and they told us that there were some changes and we were all going to start working at another location starting on Monday. But then we all started getting on big yellow school buses to go to this other location.
I don't know anyone on the bus. I'm walking through the aisle looking at everyone and the only person I see that I know is Lisa, but she's not looking at me or talking to me. I think I see Onna but not really sure and there are no seats so I just keep walking to the back. The bus is pretty crowded. I squeeze in with this one guy. The seat in the back just spreads across the whole back so it's pretty big. I'm talking to some guy I don't know but it's just small talk. The bus stops at like a rest stop or something and we all get off. I'm one of the first ones back on the bus and I see Lisa again but she's not talking to me. I walk to the back again and for some reason most of the seats are empty but people have put 'reserved for 'so and so' on the seat tables (the seats are facing each other and have a table in between) in hopes that no one steals their seat. I'm thinking how dumb that is. How people think they can 'reserve' a bus seat like that, like they 'own it' somehow just because they sat there before the bus stopped. I want to just sit down and ignore one of the hand written reservation signs written on paper, but I'm too tired to fight or argue with someone about a 'reserved seat'. So I keep moving to the back.
The back is packed this time. Those people must have wanted to not have to look for a seat, but oddly it is mostly guys sitting in the back, so I'm thinking great, at least I know one of them will have the decency to give me a spot to sit down and one scooted over for me. I notice all the guys from the other company are wearing sweatshirts that say "Russian something" on them. They are russians, they have the russian accent , everything. The bus stopped, I guess we're there. I pulled one of the Russian guys over to talk and I ask him ..."so what is really going on here? Did you guys take over the company?" and he said, in a very thick russian accent: "What our company does is collaborate with businesses who are struggling". I think not wanting to admit a takeover yet, then oddly I asked him "Do you want to go see a movie?". I then woke up.
here's the strange part...ready? I got out of bed and went to take the dog outside. Now, I rarely take the dog out on weekends because Jeff always does it. But something tells me to do it this morning so I do. I'm outside with the dog and I look up and there is this strange red balloon floating in the sky. It's not like a loose balloon but it seems to be moving strangely up and down like someone is controlling it. I think ok, I'm still dreaming, I'm gonna go get Jeff. He comes out and looks at it and it is some kind of weather balloon that someone has at the 7-11. This thing is huge, must be some kind of barometric or weather balloon he says?
Good thing there weren't 99 of them.
